The first 18 years of my life were spent overseas in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia, learning the value of adapting to situations and people in order to clearly communicate to every individual. After university and 10+ years of designing, I have found that ability to adapt as needed to articulate an idea invaluable. Perhaps it is my cross-cultural experience, or maybe it’s just the way I am wired, but I see how all communications internally and externally are connected. I don’t see separate needs and goals for the technical side vs. creative. And I don’t see division between words, graphics, and photos. They all translate ideas and messages to a specific audience. The more you understand that audience, the more articulately you will be able to interact.
Currently, I work full time at Wilson & Company performing the services of their design experience manager. I guide all end-user touch points by delivering consistent messaging across multiple platforms. Through print and digital programs, I lead design and production of marketing, communications, and business development strategies for internal and external firm-wide needs. I oversee and develop the graphic design, social media program, and website to ensure a creative and consistent look and feel that adheres to the brand, visual identity, legal guidelines, and messaging of the firm.
I offer research and creative solutions for digital needs and platforms. This portion of my role includes managing Constant Contact emails, reporting, and target audience strategy in order to align with operational goals.
Additionally, I serve on the Board of Directors for Women in Design (WiD). I serve as the Events Committee Co-Chair and create graphics for events and advertisements. This year, I am consulting with WiD as we go through a brand and website refresh. I am also a member of AIGA and love learning and being inspired at events in Denver and Boulder with fellow graphic designers.
